Ford NZ opens Mach-E orders

Ford New Zealand has announced the Mustang Mach-E is now available to order here and with drive-away pricing starting at $79,990 its entry model will be entitled to a rebate under the clean car discount.

The marque’s online reservation system for the all-electric vehicle went live on September 28 and deliveries for New Zealand customers are expected to start arriving from the second quarter of 2023.

Ford NZ says the five-seater Mach-E is the first production vehicle by the carmaker developed from the ground up to deliver zero-emissions driving.

The line-up starts with the Mach-E RWD, which has a 75.7kWh battery, a range of 440km and a drive-away price of $79,990.

Next in the range is the Mach-E AWD that features a 98.7kWh battery, a range of 550km and is priced at $109,990 plus on-road costs.

Completing the line-up is the Mach-E GT AWD, which also has a 98.7kWh battery but a slightly reduced range of 490km. It will cost $124,990 plus on-road costs and boasts a 0-100kph sprint time of 3.7 seconds.

The GT AWD model has a dual-motor, all-wheel drive, battery-electric powertrain, advanced adaptive suspension and high-performance Brembo braking system to deliver sports car responses and agility.

It also features a powertrain calibration that engages a greater proportion of torque at the rear wheels than other Mustang Mach-E all-wheel drive variants.

Rachel White, Ford NZ’s marketing manager for passenger vehicles, says: “Mustang Mach-E GT dials up the fun-to-drive experience in an all-electric powertrain. This is a refined, premium specification five-seater SUV with the acceleration of a super-car and zero tailpipe emissions.”

The Mach-E is part of an ongoing electrification strategy by Ford NZ that will give Kiwi customers the choice of up to seven new Ford electrified vehicles by the end of 2024.
