Ford issues recall notices

Hundreds of SUVs and utes are being called back because of a manufacturing defect, which could cause the left engine camshaft sprocket to fracture.
Ford has issued recall notices for Everests and Rangers made between 2022 and 2025 with an Everest three-litre Lion engine.
A spokesperson for Ford says there are about 647 units affected in New Zealand or about 1.4 per cent of the vehicles sold in the four-year period.
“Ford NZ will be reaching out to customers about this recall if they are affected, but there is nothing they need to do at this stage,” the spokesperson told RNZ. “A stop-drive has not been issued, so they can continue to drive their vehicles as normal.”
Owners of affected vehicles are being contacted and a recall notice for almost 13,500 units has been issued in Australia.
