Ford backs ‘exciting’ club
Ford New Zealand has teamed up with Auckland FC to become the official vehicle partner of the club and extend its support of football nationwide.
Under the deal, the blue oval will supply the A-League club with a fleet of vehicles to assist their day-to-day operations on and off the field.
Mathew Slade, Ford NZ’s marketing director, says the company is looking forward to supporting “one of the most exciting stories in New Zealand sport”.
“We see ourselves as the driving force behind New Zealand sport – not just a logo but genuinely embedded in how these organisations operate,” he continues.
“With Auckland FC, that comes through literally: our vehicles are moving the team and gear, and we’re showing up at the ground and in the community, not just on a jersey.”
Auckland finished the 2024-25 season as A-League Men Premiers, becoming the first New Zealand-based club to win A-League silverware, before going on to win the championship in 2025-26.
“That energy and the passionate, growing fanbase behind it made this a natural fit alongside our other Kiwi sport partnerships,” says Slade
Nick Becker, Auckland FC CEO, adds: “One of our main focuses when we started this club was to strengthen football in New Zealand and show this country what the beautiful game is all about.
“Partnering with a company like Ford that shares these same goals and that is strongly ingrained with football in New Zealand, for us, was a no-brainer.”
