Fastest-ever Cadillac arrives
Cadillac’s quickest-ever car, with a top speed of 210kph, is now available in New Zealand and priced from $109,000 plus on-road costs.
The Lyriq-V, which brings the brand’s V-Series performance to an all-electric SUV for the first time, features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain producing 459kW and 880Nm of torque.
With the Velocity Max feature engaged, the vehicle can complete the 0-100kph sprint in 3.6 seconds.
Greg Rowe, acting managing director, GM Australia and New Zealand, says the Lyriq-V is a landmark vehicle for Cadillac on both sides of the Tasman.
“It brings the V-Series badge into the electric era for the first time, and delivers the immediacy, precision and drama our customers expect from a performance Cadillac,” he explains.
“It is a genuine performance SUV but it also retains the refinement, technology and everyday usability that define the Lyriq experience.”
Now in its fourth generation, V-Series has expanded to support enhanced street driving, with performance-inspired styling.
The Lyriq-V’s V-Mode brings performance-focused settings within reach through the V button on the steering wheel, while the drive-mode system provides Tour, Sport, Snow/Ice, My Mode and V-Mode configurations.
V-Mode includes Velocity Max, Competitive Mode and Launch Control. Velocity Max enables an on-demand increase in power, Launch Control preconditions motor torque delivery for rapid acceleration from a standstill, and Competitive Mode adjusts traction-management parameters for a more performance-focused drive.
The performance hardware includes a lowered sport suspension with continuous damping control advanced adaptive dampers, a continuously variable electric power steering system, red Brembo performance front brakes with 390mm rotors and 22-inch alloy wheels with self-sealing 275/40 R22 tyres.
Electric vehicle sound enhancement operates through the vehicle’s AKG sound system, while vehicle exterior sound is delivered through dedicated underbody speakers at the front and rear.
Cadillac notes the sound experience is tuned to the vehicle’s driving modes and includes sound themes for acceleration and regenerative braking, as well as an e-rev experience when the car is parked or in neutral.
The body features a number of V-Series details, including special front and rear lower fascia designs, V-Series badging, a black painted roof and 22-inch Triple 6-Spoke Reverse Rim alloy wheels with a satin graphite finish.
Inside, standard noir nappa leather seating with sky cool grey accents, perforated inserts and V-Series embroidering is paired with a heated, leather-wrapped V steering wheel with an integrated V button.
Illuminated V-Series door sills, alloy sport pedals, 126-colour ambient lighting and a panoramic opening sunroof complete the performance-focused cabin.
Technology highlights include Cadillac’s 33-inch diagonal advanced LED display with Google Gemini, Maps and Play Store built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 23-speaker AKG Studio audio system and Connected Services compatible with the myCadillac mobile app.
The Lyriq-V has a 92kWh battery and delivers about 471km of combined-cycle WLTP range. Its 130kW DC fast-charging capability can add up to 107km of range in 10 minutes, while a 22kW three-phase AC charger can add up to 98km of range per hour of charge time.
