Ex-Toyota boss lands new role

Neeraj Lala has started a new job as head of brand and marketing for Air New Zealand less than three months after resigning as chief executive of Toyota New Zealand.

He spent 26 years at Toyota NZ, including four years in the top role, before leaving the company at the end of July.

Lala, pictured, took up his position with Air NZ on October 14 and says the job will allow him to continue his “passion for moving Kiwis from A to B, and helping connect Aotearoa to the world”.

“It’s humbling to lead a passionate and talented brand and marketing team of one of our most iconic and global brands,” he adds in a LinkedIn post.

Tatsuya Ishikawa, who has been with Toyota Motor Corporation for 20 years, is currently acting chief executive officer at Toyota NZ.
