EV boasts 528km range

With a sleek futuristic design, the EV6 Air Long Range offers impressive range, advanced technology, strong performance and a spacious interior.

It’s no surprise then that it’s proving to be the most popular variant in Kia’s fully electric new model portfolio.

Add to this the full clean car rebate of $7,015, and the EV6 Air Long Range, pictured, becomes even more attractive.

“The launch of the EV6 was a game-changing moment for Kia,” says Todd McDonald, managing director of Kia New Zealand.

“It was the arrival of a dynamic and eye-catching new model bristling with technology and capability to do what few competitors could – transport people in safety, comfort and style.

“Thanks to its large 77.4kWh battery, which delivers up to an impressive driving range of 528km on the WLTP, it offers driving freedom and removes concerns about range anxiety.

“It’s the car that has shifted perceptions about electric vehicles [EVs]. It continues to win hearts and minds with its impressive array of future-focused attributes.”

The EV6 Air Long Range showcases a design that sets it apart from other EVs. Its aerodynamic shape, futuristic LED lighting and clean lines exude a sense of sophistication.

Complementing its exterior design is an array of innovative features. These include an intuitive infotainment system with integrated 12.3-inch TFT colour LCD infotainment system and 12.3-inch TFT LCD dash cluster, wireless smartphone charging pad, Bluetooth connectivity with voice recognition, and driver-assistance systems to enhance convenience and connectivity.

In addition to a five-star ANCAP rating, the Air Long Range has a comprehensive suite of advanced safety features. Standard driver-assistance technologies include forward-collision avoidance assistance, lane-keep assist, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, and smart cruise control with stop and go.

Its 528km range provides the ability to drive Auckland to Rotorua return, Christchurch to Queenstown or Cambridge to Wellington without the need to recharge during the trip.

The vehicle features ultra-fast charging capabilities, allowing rapid replenishment of the battery. With its high-voltage charging system, it has a shorter charging time compared to many other EVs and is capable of a top-up charge of 100km in less than five minutes when using a DC 350kW charger.

It also delivers impressive performance, combining its electric powertrain with precise handling and responsive acceleration. Its electric motor provides instant torque resulting in a 0-100kph time of 7.3 seconds.

The EV6 utilises Kia’s dedicated electric-global modular platform, providing more cabin space for passengers and cargo. The flexible interior layout maximises space and the clever design makes it one of the roomiest EVs in its segment.

“It also comes with an international award-winning reputation, receiving prestigious awards such as the Red Dot innovative products and best of the best awards, and European Car of the Year 2022,” adds McDonald.

“In New Zealand, it has been recognised by Autocar magazine as its ‘most electrifying car of the year’, and Drive Life awarded it eco car of the year as well as overall winner.
