Drunk car owner gets last laugh
A series of escalating misunderstandings between a man whose car has been pulled over and two police officers left audiences laughing when it appeared on a popular British comedy show.
The classic sketch, titled Breathalyser, appeared on The Dick Emery Show and shows an inebriated aristocrat being grilled by the police who suspect him of drink-driving.
All the initial evidence appears to point to Emery’s character being culpable, especially when he gives a breath test, but the hilarious sketch delivers a surprise twist and the drunken gentleman gets the last laugh.
The Dick Emery Show ran on British TV from 1963 to 1981 and more than 160 episodes were produced.
