‘Dream’ racing package up for grabs

The Giltrap Group is inviting applications for a special scholarship that will put a young New Zealand driver behind the wheel of the all-new McLaren Artura GT4 in the 2024/25 GT NZ Championship.
In 2023, Brock Gilchrist was the first winner of the “dream seat” and after winning on debut went on to claim the GT4 Championship in a McLaren 570GT4, pictured. This season he’s racing in the Australian Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge.
“It’s an amazing opportunity to drive a proper race car for a professional team, says Gilchrist. “I learned so much, and without it, I would not be winning now.”
The Giltrap Motorsport Junior Scholarship is not just about winning races but also focuses on learning and growing as a driver with training given in data, media management and sponsorship.
The recipient of the scholarship will be supported by a professional race team, who will be assisted by rookie race engineers, as part of Giltrap Group’s goal of “creating winners on and off the track”.
The 2024/25 calendar for the GT NZ Championship has not been confirmed yet.
Applications for the scholarship close on August 31. For more details or to apply, click here.
