Discovery enhances luxury

Discovery has announced the addition of a special edition model to its line-up while at the same time updating its range to improve the design and versatility of the seven-seat SUV.
The new Tempest edition honours the 35-year legacy of the brand, which is underpinned by Land Rover, and is described as the “most luxurious, comfortable and highly specified Discovery ever produced”.
It takes its name from the secret development launch programme for the second-generation Discovery launched in 1998.
Features of the model include a contrasting Petra Copper gloss roof finish as standard, with Narvik gloss black available as an option.
This is complemented by a Petra copper gloss finish for exterior design details including the wing vent, Discovery script and lower bumper inserts.
The 22 inch alloy wheel design also sports Petra copper tinted lacquer and gloss black detailing – a new finish for Discovery and exclusive to Tempest.
Ben Montgomery, general manager of Jaguar Land Rover New Zealand, says the Tempest is due to arrive in showrooms here in November.
“The new Tempest edition … is luxurious, beautifully finished, and ready for anything,” he adds.
“It’s a vehicle that really speaks to the way Kiwi families live – active, adventurous and always on the go.”
In addition to the new Tempest edition, Discovery is also offering fresh wheel options, enhanced equipment and a new range of curated family accessory packs – Beach Days, Road Trip and Snow Days – for its models.
Discovery’s SUVs all feature a 3,500kg towing capacity and offer all terrain progress control that enables drivers to set and maintain a steady speed in challenging conditions off-road.
In New Zealand, the Discovery line-up includes three variants, the D250 SE, D350 HSE and D350 Tempest, and pricing starts from $148,900.
