Diamond dealership transformed
Staff at Simon Lucas Mitsubishi have celebrated the reopening of its completely redeveloped dealership on Auckland’s North Shore.
The facility now has a larger showroom to showcase the marque’s full range and an overhanging upstairs showroom for enhanced vehicle display capabilities.
Throughout the construction phase, the team operated from temporary facilities, including portable buildings, without compromising service.
To mark the project’s completion, Simon Lucas Mitsubishi hosted a special event on November 27 with key customers, lease companies, Mitsubishi Motors NZ executives, staff and project partners. It was followed by a three-day reopening sale with exclusive offers and giveaways.
“This redevelopment has been a long time coming and we’re incredibly proud to unveil a space that reflects the exceptional experience we want to provide,” says owner Simon Lucas.
“Our team and customers showed tremendous patience while we operated from temporary facilities, and now we’re excited to welcome everyone into a modern, spacious and fully revitalised dealership.
“Living and working locally has always been important to me. We believe in supporting our community, and this investment is a reflection of our commitment to the North Shore and our customers who have supported us for so many years.”

Warren Brown, chief executive officer of Mitsubishi Motors NZ, adds: “The transformation is a testament to the dealership’s unwavering commitment to delivering outstanding service and strengthening the brand in New Zealand.
“Simon and his team have consistently demonstrated passion, professionalism and dedication to their community. This new facility sets a high benchmark and we’re proud to stand alongside them as they enter this exciting new chapter.”

Lucas’ connection to Mitsubishi spans more than 30 years. He began his career at the marque’s head office in Porirua near Wellington where he supported national dealer operations and built deep brand knowledge early on.
He later moved into dealership leadership, serving as dealer principal of Kirk Motors in Auckland. He then realised his long-held ambition to own his own dealership, buying what’s now known as Simon Lucas Mitsubishi.
Lucas lives and works in the area, and actively supports local events, community groups and charities. His ongoing commitment there is also reflected in the opening of the Silverdale Service Centre in Forge Road. It was launched just over a year ago to serve the rapidly growing northern corridor.
