Dealer group tees up golf deal
Enterprise Motor Group (EMG) has been named the official vehicle partner of the Professional Golfers’ Association of New Zealand (PGANZ).
The used-vehicle dealer group says its backing of the sport’s governing body is one of the largest sponsorship partnerships in EMG’s history and aims to help make golf accessible to every Kiwi.
The deal is effective from this month and puts three Mitsubishi vehicles, a Triton, Outlander and ASX, to work across tournament and coaching sessions nationwide.
The EMG-liveried vehicles will support the PGANZ’s tournament calendar across its professional and amateur events, connecting professionals with golf communities and delivering added value for association members.
Jono Wu, EMG’s head of marketing, says: “Golf partnerships usually go to the prestige brands like BMW, Audi, Mercedes. That's the model everyone expects. We’re taking a different approach.
“At Enterprise Motor Group, we’re all about partnering with brands that help everyday Kiwis create greater opportunities.
“That’s why we’re proud to partner with the PGA of New Zealand, an organisation that shares our values: people first, community-driven, and future-focused.”
Wu notes EMG has shown up for everyday Kiwis for more than 50 years in the same way everyday golfers show up to the course.
“Golf isn’t the closed-door, members-only game people sometimes still picture. Through the PGANZ it reaches everyday Kiwi communities right across the country, in a lot of the same regions we operate in: Auckland, Hamilton and Gisborne.”
Denver Dafoe, PGANZ’s operations manager, adds the new deal is about more than a logo on a banner.
“The vehicles are genuinely part of how we run things, from tournament support to getting our people where they need to be,” he explains.
“We consider ourselves the heartbeat of the game in New Zealand. We’re passionate about every level, from grassroots participation right through to our four members who are major winners, and this partnership helps us grow the game at every one of those levels.”
Over coming years, the PGANZ expects the partnership to deliver an enhanced Legends Pro-Am Series, stronger engagement between its members and EMG, and improved value for golfers across the country.
