Deadline for submissions

The closing date for submissions for the ITS Asia-Pacific Forum 2027 is fast approaching, so now is the time to finalise contributions and put work forward for consideration.

Whether you are delivering a transport project, developing new technology, researching emerging solutions or shaping transport policy, the event offers an opportunity for work to be shared with an international audience.

The conference is being hosted by Intelligent Transportation Systems NZ (ITSNZ) at the New Zealand International Convention Centre in Auckland from May 5-7 next year.

Submissions, which close on November 20, can take the form of full scientific papers, technical papers and proposals for special-interest sessions as part of a high-quality, peer-reviewed programme addressing the future of ITS.

The ITS Asia-Pacific Forum 2027 will showcase innovation, policy leadership and technical excellence in intelligent transport. The programme includes plenary sessions, executive discussions, technical sessions, and demonstrations aligned to the theme of “advancing intelligent transport together”.

The event will bring together Asia-Pacific leaders, industry experts and researchers to explore innovative solutions and support cross-border collaboration aimed at delivering better outcomes to transport users and operators.

So, what are intelligent transportation systems? They use sensing, data analytics, digital communication and smart technologies across all transport modes, infrastructure and users.

ITS essentially makes transport networks safer and more efficient, sustainable and resilient, to improve mobility, wellbeing and overall liveability.

Sessions at the event will focus on ITS solutions that demonstrate collaboration, innovation and implementation across 12 topic categories.

Whether you’re sharing new research, innovative solutions, practical project outcomes or lessons learned, this is an opportunity to contribute to the conversations shaping the future of intelligent transport. There are different submission guidelines for various formats. These are:

• Scientific papers – to present original academic research and findings.

• Technical papers – share practical applications, case studies and lessons learned.

• Special-interest sessions – to bring together experts for focused discussions and interactive sessions.

• Poster presentations – showcase emerging research, pilot projects and early-stage work.

If you have a question about a submission, email ITSNZ’s executive officer Kim Mundell at exec@itsnz.org.
