Darrow leaving MTF role
Mark Darrow is retiring as chairman of MTF Finance when his current term ends during the middle of this year.
Darrow, pictured, took up the position in July 2020 and has overseen the development and execution of a strategy to deliver growth in shareholder value and boost the company’s market position, enabling it to expand through its channels and products, as well as diversifying.
“Mark brought a focus and drive to the organisation that kicked off an extraordinary growth period, nearing 100 per cent business growth, with a corresponding increase in value for originators and shareholders,” says Chris Lamers, chief executive officer.
“In my time at MTF Finance, Mark has shown the true potential of what can be achieved with a clear vision and unwavering determination. His commercial acumen, governance skills and passion for the industry have focused the strategy and team on delivery to customers and shareholders.
“The impact made across every part of the business has been immense, and the benefits of this will be felt for years to come. He will leave behind a proud legacy.
“We will now focus on building on that foundation, and ensuring MTF Finance continues to challenge and evolve how finance works in New Zealand – by making lending all about people.”
Darrow adds: “I’m proud that what has been achieved over the past six years builds on the enduring history of MTF, placing the company in a strong position to continue its growth trajectory.
“I would like to thank the board, our shareholders, originators and the national-office team for making this a special company, and such an important and rewarding chapter in my governance career.
“I’ve worked with some talented directors who always focused on our people and creating shareholder value. It’s been a pleasure being part of the journey.”
MTF Finance is now recruiting a new independent chairman and working with Darrow to ensure a smooth transition.
