Cybertruck touches down in NZ

A prototype of Tesla’s Cybertruck is believed to be in New Zealand for some final winter testing after it was spotted being unloaded at an airport here.

Footage of the all-electric truck coming off a plane has been posted on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum, along with the suggestion it is heading for the Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds near Wanaka.

Tesla has already put the Cybertruck through its paces in the snow in Alaska, pictured above, but the model is believed to have come to New Zealand for some final testing before production.

The carmaker has previously said the first deliveries of the vehicle are planned for the third quarter of this year, with the goal of reaching mass production in 2024.
