Company hails ‘true legend’

The Miles Group has celebrated Bill Potter’s 30th anniversary with the company, describing him as a key figure in its service teams at Ilam Toyota and Miles Toyota Airport in Christchurch over the years.

Currently service manager at Miles Toyota Airport, the firm says his experience, leadership, and dedication have played a crucial role in the ongoing success of the group.

He has been awarded a 30-year service certificate from Toyota New Zealand for his efforts, with Mark Mills, Miles Toyota chief executive officer, describing Potter as a “Miles Group lifer and a true legend”.

Potter, pictured, adds: “I joined the Miles Group after the opportunity arose to become the leading hand at a brand-new boutique workshop on Orchard Road [Miles Toyota Airport], and then moved to work under the Ilam Toyota banner in 1994. 

“I’ve been part of the Miles Group team ever since and have enjoyed growing from leading hand with a team of four to managing a dynamic team of 14 and working with a great bunch of people at Ilam and Miles Toyota who, like me, will do their best for the company and our customers. 

“I’ll probably hang around a bit longer and continue this Toyota journey – destination unknown.”
