Company eyes up growth

NZ Cheap Cars is opening a national distribution centre in Penrose, Auckland, to streamline operations and support its growth across the country.

The company was founded about two years ago by Michael Yang, chief executive officer. It already has four branches across the city and reports having sold more than 5,000 cars.

The new distribution centre will serve as the “heart” of its operations with the aim of improving logistics and enhancing customer experience. The facility will also accommodate NZ Cheap Cars’ head office.

The company has secured bank funding towards its expansion plans. This financial backing will allow it to “accelerate growth and further enhance its service offering”.

"Opening our national distribution centre is an exciting and pivotal moment for NZ Cheap Cars,” says Yang, pictured.

“This will not only help us increase operational efficiency, but it also enables us to better serve customers as we expand our reach across the country.

“The support from our banking partners has also been instrumental in helping us to realise this vision and we look forward to using this funding to drive further growth.”

In addition to the Penrose facility, preparations are under way for NZ Cheap Cars’ new Tauranga branch, with plans for dealerships in Wellington and Christchurch in development.

“We’re proud of how far we’ve come in just over two years,” adds Yang. “With our distribution centre, secured bank funding and expansion into other regions, we’re excited about the future.”
