Companies repeat gold success
A number of automotive companies have maintained a gold standard when it comes to customer service after successfully defending their titles in an annual prizegiving based on the views of Kiwi consumers.
Turners Cars, Toyota Signature Class, Bridgestone, AA Roadservice and AA Insurance have been named among the winners of the Reader’s Digest Quality Service Awards for 2025.
They topped the same categories as last year after organisers handed out gold and silver awards based on the ratings of 1,570 New Zealanders.
Turners won gold in the used vehicle dealership section, with silver again going to 2 Cheap Cars.
There was also a repeat of 2024’s awards in the manufacturer-certified used car sales category, with Toyota Signature Class placed ahead of Honda Certified Used Cars.
The AA enjoyed double success with AA Insurance winning the car insurance title and AA Roadservice, pictured, scooping the roadside assistance award. AMI and NZ Roadside Assistance secured the silver awards in those categories, respectively.
In other industries, Hertz was the top-rated car rental company and Bridgestone was named the leading tyre retailer.
Reader’s Digest says it commissioned an independent market research agency, Catalyst, to conduct the annual survey and rate organisations across 32 categories.
Respondents were asked to rank companies on five key pillars of customer service – personalisation, understanding, simplicity, satisfaction and consistency.
