Ford Ranger delivers 12.2 per cent rise in sales to reclaim number one spot on models’ ladder.

There were 2,753 new commercials registered last month, a modest 0.6 per cent increase when compared with 2,737 in April 2025. 

Ford’s Ranger was the best-selling model in April with 753 units, up 12.2 per cent from the 671 units sold in the same month a year ago. 

Next was the Toyota Hilux on 607 registrations, a year-on-year drop of 5.7 per cent from 644, and Mitsubishi’s Triton was third with 268 sales.

The Toyota Hiace and Ford Transit completed the top five with 207 and 84 sales respectively.

The Ranger leads the year-to-date standings with 3,236 registrations and a 24.2 per cent share of the market.

In second place is the Hilux on 2,300 and 17.2 per cent, and the Nissan Navara is third on 1,252 units and 9.4 per cent.

The market’s overall year-to-date total stands at 13,389 units.

On the marques’ ladder, Ford was top in April with 837 registrations, up 11.6 per cent from 750 a year ago, and a market share of 30.4 per cent.

Toyota was next on 836 units, the same as in April 2025, and Mitsubishi was third on 268.

Ford is top of the year-to-date charts with 3,644 registrations and a market share of 27.2 per cent. Toyota is second with 3,419 and 25.5 per cent and Nissan completes the top three on 1,252 and 9.4 per cent.

Used sector improves

As for used-imported commercials, the 324 units registered in April was up 2.5 per cent from 316 in the same month last year. This brings the year-to-date total to 1,534.

Toyota’s Hiace was the leading model last month on 114 registrations and a market share of 35.2 per cent.

Next were Nissan’s NV200 and Caravan after they recorded 28 and 15 sales respectively. The Ford Ranger with 14 and LDV T60 on 12 completed the top five.

Year to date, the Hiace has notched up 587 sales for a 38.3 per cent market share, and Nissan’s NV200 is second on 94 units and 6.1 per cent.

Toyota was the top marque last month with 145 registrations, a 13.3 per cent increase from 128 a year ago.

Next was Nissan with 68, Ford on 21, Isuzu with 18 and LDV on 14.

Year to date, Toyota has 722 registrations and a 47.1 per cent market share. Nissan is next on 292 and 19 per cent, with Ford third on 89 and 5.8 per cent.
