Colonial appoints new director

The Colonial Motor Company has announced the appointment of John Beveridge as an independent director, effective from April 29.
Ashley Waugh, chairman, says Beveridge is an experienced director in the public and non-public company environments and has held a number of senior management positions with listed and unlisted companies.
Beveridge, pictured, is currently a director of NZX-listed Steel & Tube Holdings Ltd and chair of the non-public NZ Scaffolding Group of companies.
His corporate career has included senior management roles with Fletcher Building, where he was the chief executive officer of Placemakers for four years, and leadership roles with Pacific Steel and Golden Bay Cement.
As a director appointed by the Colonial board, Beveridge will be subject to election at the next meeting of shareholders, which is scheduled for November 7.
