Feebates top of industry agenda
The Imported Motor Vehicle Industry Association (VIA) is inviting members to attend its next webinar this month where the upcoming changes to the clean car discount (CCD) will be the main topic of discussion.
Adjustments to the feebates scheme are set to be introduced from July 1 following an announcement by Michael Wood, Minister of Transport, on May 2.
The changes include the limit for rebates for new and used imported light vehicles dropping from 146g of carbon dioxide (CO2) per kilometre to 100g.
Fees will also apply to vehicles with emissions of 150gCO2/km or more, rather than starting at the current level of 192g.
In an email alert sent out to members just hours after the government’s announcement, VIA says its next monthly webinar at 1.30pm on Tuesday, May 9, will discuss the CCD changes.
Attending the association’s meeting will be David Vinsen, chief executive, Kit Wilkerson, head of policy and strategy, and Malcolm Yorston, technical manager.
