Cassidy fighting to end

The Kiwi pairing that competes for Jaguar TCS Racing in the FIA Formula E World Championship will take their last bow together at the season finale in London this weekend.

Nick Cassidy and Mitch Evans have spent the past two seasons racing for the team but the former has announced he will be leaving at the end of the 2024/25 campaign, with rumours the 30-year-old is set to join another team on the grid.

The New Zealand duo secured a win each in the penultimate round in Berlin, which means Cassidy, pictured, can still finish as runner-up in the series.

Cassidy’s stint with Jaguar TCS Racing has delivered 278 points for the team so far after collecting four wins and a further seven podiums.

“The decision to leave Jaguar TCS Racing has not been an easy one, but ultimately it is the right one for me personally,” he says.

“I’d like to thank everyone at the team for their support since I joined at the beginning of season 10. We have fought hard and had some great success together.

“I particularly want to thank the engineers and mechanics on the #37 side of the garage – we’ve made some amazing memories.

“Looking ahead to London this weekend, together we’ll work as hard as ever to ensure we’re competitive and fighting for the best results possible.”

It will also be the last competitive weekend with Jaguar TCS Racing for team principal, James Barclay.

He has led the team to every one of its 125 race starts since its first competitive outing in the championship in 2016.

Meanwhile, Evans has a chance to make history in London after Berlin delivered his 14th Formula E victory and put him in a tie for first place with Sebastien Buemi in the drivers’ standings for all-time wins.

“Despite winning the very first race in Sao Paulo, overall it’s been a difficult season both for me and the team,” says Evans.

“But we’ve never stopped working hard, and together we feel we’ve really started to unlock the true pace of the Jaguar I-Type 7. We saw that in Berlin where it was great to stand on top of the podium again – and in London we’ll be pushing hard for more success.

“It’s going to be a special weekend too. Having been with the team led by James since its very first race – I’d like to thank him for all his support and let him know that we’ll continue to keep pushing.

“I’d also like to wish Nick all the best for the future. We’ve grown up in this sport together, he’s a good friend, and I’m sure there’s every chance we’ll enjoy some more on-track battles in the years ahead.”
