Buzzing with Volkswagen

The wait is almost over with the all-new ID. Buzz set to arrive in New Zealand in June.
Volkswagen anticipates the range will make a big impression in the premium van segment.
It says the ID. Buzz, which can be personalised to individual needs, “defies the ordinary as a modern icon designed for those who embrace adventure”.
Kevin Richards, general manager of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles NZ, says: “While electric vehicles continue to evolve, the ID. Buzz goes beyond the typical EV narrative.
“Inspired by the Kombi design and built on decades of Volkswagen heritage, this isn’t just another van. It’s an icon in the truest sense of the word.
“Evolving with the times yet staying faithful to the symbol of freedom we all know and love, the ID. Buzz captures the spirit of the past while embracing the future.
“So many Kiwis have stories from their past that centre around their love of the Kombi. Now they can write some new ones.”
Available in four variants – the ID. Buzz Pro NWB, Pro LWB, GTX and Cargo – each has been designed to meet the demands for premium transport.
The ID. Buzz’s exterior blends a modern design with a tribute to its roots. Details, such as its “eye blink” headlights, give it a fun personality.
Both the ID. Buzz and ID. Buzz Cargo are equipped with class-leading safety features. These include autonomous emergency braking, front and side assist, pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitoring and traffic alerts.
The newly developed, spacious interior of the ID. Buzz offers flexible seating options with five, six or seven-seat configurations.
The Ready 2 Discover system has a 12.9-inch touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the built-in phone charger and multiple USB ports allow everyone to easily charge their devices on the go.
For added comfort, the ID. Buzz passenger variants come standard with front seats that feature a massage function.
Additionally, the ID. Buzz Box – a removable storage compartment between the front seats – provides extra space for essentials. The optional panoramic roof with adjustable smart glass creates a more luxurious, elevated atmosphere.
The ID.Buzz Cargo “reimagines” how you transport goods and cargo. With up to 328km in electric range on the WLTP and a 707kg payload, it meets everyday demands while having the benefits of a van.
Richards adds: “The ID. Buzz signals a bold step forward for Volkswagen. It’s a vehicle that embodies freedom and sustainability, designed for those who enjoy the best in refinement, comfort and premium craftmanship.”
Pricing starts from $114,990, including GST and excluding on-road costs.
