The vast majority of new light commercials sold during October were to businesses 

Statistics supplied to Autofile by the Motor Industry Association show there were 3,547 light-commercial vehicles registered last month, with 3,049 units – or 86 per cent of the total – being snapped up by businesses.

Sales of new passenger vehicles came in at 2,026 with 60.7 per cent and 1,230 units being bought by the business sector.

However, when it came to SUVs last month the market spilt with much more even with 4,197 – or 49.1 per cent – of 8,554 units going to private buyers.
