Brough rejoins UDC Finance

UDC Finance has appointed Andrew Brough as its new general manager – dealer, which reunites him with the company he left 13 years ago.
He has a long resumé in the New Zealand finance industry and replaces Lawrence Profitt who was promoted to chief operating officer this year.
Brough, pictured, previously spent 16 years at ANZ and UDC, which was a wholly owned subsidiary of ANZ until 2020.
He started with ANZ in operations in 1994 before moving into credit and then shifting to UDC. He held several roles at the latter, including running acceptance, credit and operations for dealer, and being head of operations, a role that saw him managing 120 staff across New Zealand, Australia and India.
In 2010, he ran operations at Heartland Bank and then moved to Finance Now, where he was general manager – operations, general manager – intermediaries and finally chief risk officer.
He has spent the past four years as Australasian general manager – motor vehicle and consumer at Avanti Finance/Branded Financial Services.
Brough’s new role covers a wide area of UDC, incorporating dealer – motor vehicle and equipment – and direct lending, with a strong focus on supporting the company’s dealers.
“Thirty-four per cent of our applications start online, so it’s important we transfer these across to our dealer network as soon as we can and support the 22 distributor relationships,” he explains.
Brough says a feature of the business will also be improving its digital capabilities.
“We’re talking about enhancing our API [application programming interface] integration, customer remarketing, iframes and online calculators to name a few.
“UDC is very focused on the digital space, and I see this as an exciting aspect of my role as we move into the future”.
