Brand takes ‘step forward’

Omoda Jaecoo’s updated E5 MY25.5 range now delivers an increased 155kW of power and boasts a range of up to 430km on a single charge. 

The all-electric model is now available in showrooms and comes in two variants, the entry-level BX and top-of-the-range EX. Pricing starts from $40,990 plus on-road costs. 

Roy Munoz, chief commercial officer of Omoda Jaecoo NZ, says: “Fine-tuning an already competitive product, these changes represent another step forward for the Omoda brand within New Zealand.

“We are committed to offering a class-leading driving experience and unbeatable value for money with all our vehicles and the updated E5 is a testament to this.” 
Standard features across the range include a dual 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster and integrated multimedia touchscreen, 18-inch alloy wheels, premium steering wheel, and a “Hello Omoda” voice-control system. 

On the safety front, there are a number of advanced driver assistance systems such as autonomous emergency braking, emergency lane keeping, lane departure prevention, adaptive cruise control and door opening warning. 

The EX variant’s extra touches include heated front and outboard rear seats, colour-selectable ambient lighting, and eight-speaker Sony sound system, rear privacy glass, a power sunroof and a 360-degree surround view camera. 

Omoda Jaecoo notes its petrol-powered C5 has also received a facelift and follows the same variant naming convention.
