Brand offers cool experience

Kiwi drivers are being offered the chance to put themselves and Zeekr’s latest EVs through their paces in Queenstown’s snowy and icy conditions.

Bookings are open for Zeekr On Ice, the brand’s first electrified ice-driving experience at New Zealand’s renowned Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds in August.

Guests will be able to get behind the wheel of vehicles from Zeekr’s future product portfolio before they reach market against the backdrop of the Southern Alps.

Each package includes a two-night luxury stay at Millbrook Resort in Queenstown and a full day of driving Zeekr models such as the performance-focused 7GT as well as the X, 7X, 8X and 9X.

Two Zeekr On Ice experiences are being held, with the first from August 19-21 and the second from August 20-22.

Dane Fisher, group general manager at NordEast Vehicle Distributors, says: “Zeekr On Ice gives a select group of New Zealanders the opportunity to drive future Zeekr models long before they reach market, at one of the world’s most demanding proving grounds. 

“It’s a unique experience that showcases the performance, technology and capability that define the Zeekr brand.”

The experiences include vehicle dynamics training, slalom courses, controlled power slides, gymkhana circuits and hot laps with professional drivers.

Off the track, guests will receive celebration dinners, coaching from world-class ice-driving instructors, a helicopter transfer off the mountain, and a complete concierge service with airport and ground transfers

The driver packages, for those aged 25 years or over and holding a valid driver's licence, are priced at $5,500, including GST. Spectator packages cost $1,500.

Bookings can be made through Giltrap Zeekr’s Auckland dealerships in Grey Lynn and on the North Shore.
