Blue oval debuts new models

Ford New Zealand has given the all-new Tourneo Courier and Transit Courier their debut at Fieldays, near Hamilton, this week.
The updated Tourneo Courier, pictured above, is described by the company as a multi-activity vehicle that “packs SUV style and practical features into a city-friendly footprint that fits five people with boot space to spare”.
It is powered by an enhanced 1.0-litre EcoBoost turbocharged petrol engine delivering 92kW power with auto start-stop and an active grille shutter for optimised energy efficiency.
A new seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission comes as standard and the Active series model boasts a two-tone paint design.
On the inside, a built-in modem is standard and enables wireless software updates for multiple modules.
Other cockpit features include Sync 4 infotainment controlled through a central eight-inch touchscreen, a digital cluster display replacing traditional analogue dials, a wireless charging pad and a number of storage options for personal items.
With the rear seats flipped, the Tourneo Courier offers up to 2,162 litres of boot space.
It has a three-seat rear bench and the seats are split 60/40. These can fold and flip to help carry items up to 1.4 metres long.
Driver assistance systems that come as standard include lane-keeping system, pre-collision assist, intelligent speed assist, traffic sign recognition, driver alert and cruise control.
The all-new Tourneo Courier is open for orders and has a GST-inclusive recommended retail price of $55,990, plus on-road costs (ORCs). Deliveries are expected in the final quarter of this year.
Van ‘smart inside and out’
Also on show for the first time at Fieldays was the new Ford Transit Courier, which features a five-seat configuration and a “fold and tumble” rear seat that increases the rear load space.
Paul Heagerty, Ford Transit marketing manager, Ford NZ, says: “The all-new Transit Courier delivers the capability of a larger van while keeping the footprint compact.
“It’s smart both inside and out and will be an ace in the hand for NZ businesses.”
The Transit Courier, pictured above, introduces a 92kW variant of Ford’s 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine, which has been optimised to produce less carbon dioxide and improve fuel efficiency.
The EcoBoost powertrain is paired with a new seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission to support customers who often drive in stop-start traffic.
Among the vehicle’s advanced driver assistance systems are lane-keeping system, intelligent speed assist, rear parking sensors, blind spot information system with cross traffic alert, and reverse brake assist.
The Transit Courier DCiV has a GST-inclusive recommended retail price of $49,990, plus ORCs, with deliveries estimated for the final three months of 2025.
