B10 ‘value for money’

Armstrong’s is expecting New Zealand’s newest fully electric SUV to create “significant” interest at dealerships.
“The new Leapmotor B10 will debut with a special launch offer of $42,990 for the highly specified Life and $47,990 for the more lavishly appointed Design model,” says Brian Carr, general manager of sales at Auto Distributors NZ.
“The rear-wheel-drive B10 is eye-catching. It offers premium features not normally seen at this price point and sets new standards for intelligent electric SUVs by offering advanced connectivity, a spacious interior and dynamic exterior design.
“We believe this offers Kiwis outstanding value for money, considering the high level of standard equipment, plus an unheralded array of outstanding features combining technology and versatility.”
These include vehicle-to-load functionality, a 14.6-inch 2.5K pixel HD central floating touchscreen and an 8.8-inch instrument cluster, panoramic glass roof with electric sunshade, 18-inch alloys, 360-degree surround view camera, over-the-air updates and 17 advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
Smartphone connectivity is standard, featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a wireless-charging pad located between the front seats.
Compact dimensions of 4,515mm in length, 1,885mm in width and 1,655mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,735mm, make the B10 the “ideal size for city commutes, yet the interior is spacious enough for trips away with family or friends”.
The SUV’s boot has a 1,100mm wide opening and an identical depth expanding to 1,400mm with the rear seats folded. This contributes to a total boot volume of 430 litres that expands to 1,700 litres with the seats down.
For added practicality, there are 22 storage spaces throughout the vehicle including in the centre console, door panels, ceiling, seats and boot. The addition of a 25-litre frunk complements the B10’s interior space and is ideal for storing charging cables and adapters.
The exterior is available with six paint finishes – blue, white, grey, purple, black and silver. The interior of the Life variant has a light-grey theme as standard, while the Design is available with a shadow grey or dark-feather grey eco leather.
The 17 ADAS include advanced emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot detection, door-open warning for cyclists and adaptive cruise control.
Functions available through the Leapmotor app include remote air conditioning, central locking, steering-wheel heating and electric seat heating or ventilating.
The app also works as the B10’s key, meaning drivers simply need to have their cellphone with them for seamless entry and start-stop functionality. An NFC card is also supplied.
There are two battery options available – a 56.2kWh pack in the Life model and a 67.1kWh battery in the Design. WLTP ranges are 361km and 434km respectively. Both batteries can be charged from 30-80 per cent in 20 minutes thanks to fast-charging capability.
The new B10 comes with a four-year or 100,000km warranty, an eight-year or 160,000km battery warranty and four years’ roadside assistance as standard. The Life has a recommended retail price of $44,990 and the Design’s is $49,990, both plus on-road costs. There is a special launch offer with $2,000 off both variants’ sticker prices.
Leapmotor has emerged as one of the world’s fastest-growing EV brands. In the first eight months of 2025, it delivered more than 320,000 units globally and recently celebrated its one-millionth vehicle produced.
Its strong growth in China has been matched by an international expansion strategy backed by a joint venture with Stellantis, which has seen Leapmotor enter more than 30 markets.
