Subaru of New Zealand has announced the pricing of its most powerful SUVs and some will be arriving on our shores in December.

The Outback XT Turbo will have a sticker price of $62,990 with the XT Turbo Touring starting at $5,000 more.

Wallis Dumper, managing director of Subaru of NZ, is thrilled the brand now has recommended retail prices for the SUVs.

“While the pricing reveal on the Outback XT answers the main question all those who have pre-registered their interest have been asking, the next important step is to secure yours before the new clean car standard [CCS] kicks in.

“We have limited stock arriving in December and urge anyone interested in purchasing an Outback XT Turbo to put down a deposit. The CCS fee will be introduced on January 1, 2023. It will add thousands of dollars to this model.

“We know many Outback drivers are business owners and can work around the GST on the tax implications.

“However, we’re also aware that many private, passionate owners will want to avoid paying more tax than they need to if it’s simply a matter of timing their purchase right to buy their XT before the end of 2022.”

The all-new variants feature 2.4-litre turbocharged Subaru Boxer engines with 183kW and 350Nm of torque, equating to more horsepower. The XTs’ towing capabilities jump from the current 2.5-litre naturally aspirated Outback’s 2,000kg limit to 2,400kg braked-towing capacity.
