Staff from across the BMW Group NZ network gather in Auckland to celebrate their 2025 achievements

East Auckland BMW has been named the marque’s dealer of the year and scooped four other prizes as BMW Group New Zealand celebrated the achievements of its dealers throughout 2025.

The East Tamaki-based dealership also triumphed in the marketing and financial services categories, and employees Queenie Chiu and Sam Wyke won business manager and sales manager awards respectively.

Other winners at BMW Group NZ’s awards ceremony included Auckland Mini Garage scooping that brand’s 2025 dealer of the year crown.

Coombes Johnston BMW’s Tauranga and Hamilton branches each claimed two gongs, as did Auckland City BMW. Christchurch BMW and Hawke’s Bay BMW completed the list of winners.

The gala event, which was held at the New Zealand International Convention Centre in Auckland on March 16, came after BMW topped New Zealand’s premium segment for the second consecutive year.

The group notes BMW had a 20.4 per cent increase in registrations last year, when compared with 2024, and Mini’s sales rose 4.9 per cent over the same period.

Francois Roca, BMW Group NZ managing director, says this week’s event highlights the dedication showed by dealers on multiple levels.

“This awards evening is a chance to recognise the importance of our network and reward the dealers and all their staff for such outstanding contributions to our brands,” he adds.

“Last year saw exceptional sales results for BMW and Mini as they both recorded growth in a challenging economic environment, and the very foundation of these achievements are in our network.

“Among the many highlights in 2025 included the first rollout phase of Retail.Next – a transformative leap forward in the BMW Group’s retail experience – alongside a record level of investment in facilities and services.

“This underlines the dedication of our dealer partners to provide customers a premium experience that befits our group brand positioning.

“I express sincere gratitude to each and every member of the BMW Group dealer network in New Zealand for their hard work, professionalism and commitment to our shared success.”

Also attending the ceremony was Ritu Chandy, senior vice-president of the Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa sales regions, who flew in from Germany to pass his own commendations to dealers and their staff.
