Association seeks new CEO
The Imported Motor Vehicle Industry Association (VIA) has launched a hunt for a new chief executive officer, with the successful candidate “ideally based in Wellington”.
An advertisement for the role says VIA is seeking a “new, spirited leader to step up and drive our industry association”. It comes as David Vinsen is retiring after more than 20 years in the position.
The advert on Seek says: “Based in Wellington, the CEO will remotely lead a small but extremely capable team of experts, to further our association’s mission of ‘keep the doors open for used imports’.”
It adds the job will involve working closely with VIA’s industry council and engaging with industry leaders to help shape and guide its strategy and policy positions.
“You will become the face and spokesperson for our industry, communicating our message across industry and mainstream media platforms.”
VIA notes it is seeking someone with 10-plus years of experience in relevant fields or industries that align with its objectives, and experience working with or for government departments, ministries or agencies.
Applicants must also be business savvy, able to grow revenue and manage costs and able to network effectively “building relationships at all levels both internally and externally”.
It says the CEO will promote VIA as the leading industry association for imported used vehicles to all levels of government, industry, and supply chain stakeholders.
“The role is a permanent position, ideally full-time, the role could be part-time for the right candidate ... [it] will ideally be based in Wellington, but Auckland could be considered,” the advert explains.
