Ford has confirmed the all-electric Puma, which goes into production in Europe in 2024, will be coming to New Zealand.

Specifications, arrival timing and pricing will be announced closer to launch with the blue oval now offering electrified powertrains across most of its range.

Its current line-up includes the Focus and Puma mild hybrids, and the Escape in full hybrid and plug-in hybrid guise.

Arriving “now” are the all-electric Mustang Mach-E and E-Transit Cargo. Next year will see the local launch of the all-electric E-Transit Custom with the E-Transit Courier arriving in 2025.

Ford NZ’s electrification roadmap will continue to include many of its already-popular nameplates while also introducing new models to diversify and broaden its local range.

To ensure a smooth electrification roll-out, the marque has partnered with Singer Electric NZ, a leading supplier of EV charging infrastructure for homes and businesses.

With Singer Electric, Ford has rolled out stations for its main dealership sites and is about to finishing doing the same for dealer branches.

Installations include customer forecourt charging stations and capabilities in service areas. Singer will also provide customers with at-home and business charging solutions.

For customers on the road, Ford NZ has partnered with ChargeNet to ensure drivers are equipped to plug into New Zealand’s largest EV charging network. A Ford RFID fob is supplied with the purchase of blue-oval EVs giving owners an easy way to access ChargeNet’s facilities

Around the world, Ford is dedicating billions of dollars through to 2026 to develop and make EVs and batteries. It is on the path to reach its targeted annual production run rate of 600,000 EVs by the end of this year and more than two million by the end of 2026. By 2030, half of Ford’s global sales volume is expected to be electric.
