Agency ‘improving data quality’
Government officials say they resolved more than 600 queries about Rightcar data in the first month of the full clean car discount scheme being rolled out.
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency adds it is “continuing to improve its in-house systems and processes to reduce errors and improve data quality” following complaints from industry about inaccurate or missing emissions figures for vehicles.
Dealers have reported a number of incidents where consumers have been faced with the wrong rebate or fee when it comes to registering cars for the first time in New Zealand.
Waka Kotahi says it resolved 619 out of 697 queries about data quality it had received by the end of April, reports Radio NZ.
It also fixed information for 95 used vehicles eligible for the clean car scheme that did not have emissions data, and found and fixed four wider data quality trends by the end of April, according to a Ministry of Transport (MoT) Official Information Act response quoting the agency.
Waka Kotahi notes updating historical vehicle model records with more accurate emissions figures was now “largely complete”.
