Agency chief moving on
Nicole Rosie, chief executive of the NZ Transport Agency, has announced she will be leaving her post when her current term concludes in mid-February 2025.
She took up the position in February 2020 and says leading the NZTA has been a highlight of her more than 20 years in senior management, which has included roles with WorkSafe NZ, Fonterra, Vector and KiwiRail.
“The team at NZTA is incredibly dedicated to ensuring New Zealand has a land transport system that supports economic prosperity and serves our communities and I’m proud to have been part of that,” she adds.
Rosie, pictured, has steered the NZTA through the disruption of Covid-19, the impacts of multiple weather events, and a significant growth in its work programme.
“I’m proud that during my time as chief executive, we’ve delivered major projects such as Transmission Gully, the Puhoi to Warkworth motorway and the State Highway 25A Taparahi rebuild, as well as strengthening our regulatory function and our digital offerings,” she says.
“Now is the right time for me to move on to other challenges. I want to thank the wonderful team at NZTA and the partners, stakeholders and communities who are valued contributors to our work.”
The agency’s board thanks Rosie for her “dedication and leadership” over the past four-and-a-half years, and acknowledges the personal sacrifice, time and effort that goes with such roles.
The board will now commence a recruitment process for a new chief executive.
