Used commercials soar

2016 has been a bumper year for used commercials, with 9,921 vehicles sold already, a 22 per cent increase on 8107 sold in 2015. 1,144 used commercial vehicles were sold in November, which was a huge 44 per cent increase on the 792 units which were sold at the same time last year. Used car sales remain at 136345 for the year, already passing last year's sales of 131044. 12762 used vehicles were sold in November this year, an increase of 8.8 per cent from the same time last year when 11,732 vehicles were sold. Sales were higher than last year across the country, with Gisborne dealerships selling 64 units in the month of November - a 64.1 per cent increase from 39 at the same time last year. Blenheim and Masterton followed with a 53.3 and 38.9 per cent increase in sales respectively. Trade-ins reached 145,389 units this year, an increase of 2.6 per cent from the total for the whole year of 2015. 12,717 units were traded in for the month of November, which was an increase of 4.9 per cent from the same time last year. In terms of dealer to public sales, 195,436 units were sold, an increase of 1.8 per cent from the same time last year. Sales for the month of November hit 18,277 units, an increase of 0.5 per cent from the same time last year when 18,194 units were sold from the dealer to the public.
