Dealership in voluntary liquidation

A Hawke’s Bay dealership offering new and used Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda and MG cars has gone into voluntary liquidation.

EuroCity in Napier has been operating since 2005 and was named Audi New Zealand’s dealer of the year in 2010.

Its parent company, Euro City Limited, has now appointed Tony Maginness and Jared Booth of Baker Tilly Staples Rodway as liquidators, according to a New Zealand Gazette notice posted on April 23.

Creditors of the company, which has 38 staff and also operates EuroCity Marine, have until June 10 to prove their debts or claims and to establish any priority.

Terry Elmsly, EuroCity’s owner and managing director, decided to put the company in liquidation and is in the process of negotiating to sell the business, he told the NZ Herald.
