Suzuki's new chief

Suzuki Motor Corp says its board has appointed Toshihiro Suzuki as new chief executive. Suzuki is the son of 86-year-old chairman Osamu Suzuki, who this month declined the CEO position in order to deal with the company’s incorrect testing methods for calculating vehicle mileage – he will remain as chairman. The 57-year-old Toshihiro Suzuki has been president and chief operating officer for the past year and vice-president of General Motors Corp for five years. Suzuki is Japan’s fourth-largest automaker, although it exited the US market in 2012 following poor sales.
