Pagani releases new Roadster

Posted on 16 February, 2017

Pagani have released the new Huayra Roadster, which sold out before launch. The supercar costs $3.5 million, and just 100 were manufactured. Pagani claimed the Huayra features the highest lateral acceleration “ever seen on a car with tyres” of 1.8G, and contains a Mercedes-AMG’s ‘M158’ V12 engine, producing 760bhp, or 566kW, and 999Nm of torque with a top speed of 370km/h. The engine is fitted to a seven speed X-Trac gearbox. The Roadster comes with two roofs – a removable carbon fibre hard top containing a central glass panel, and a fabric roof, which can be stored inside the car if needed. Pagani installed active aero flaps which, in conjunction with the active suspension, ensures downforce is optimal both on and off the track. The suspension is forged from a lightweight aluminium alloy called ‘HiForg’, which lightens the car by 25 per cent and gives a total dry weight of 1280kg – 80kg lighter than the Huayra Coupe. 380mm carbon ceramic Brembos brakes feature on the front and back, housed inside 20-inch wheels. The tyres are custom-built by Pirelli to allow for the G-force and grip.
