New commercials set record

The number of new commercial vehicles imported into New Zealand during October made last month the strongest of the year at 3,172. The second-highest month was April on 3,063. The majority were assembled in Thailand on 2,239. It was followed by Japan on 361 and Germany on 119. The total of new commercials imported so far this year now comes in at 25,684. Last month’s total of 8,927 new passenger vehicle imports was a drop on September’s figure of 9,622. Japan accounted for most with 2,577, followed by Korea on 1,104, the US on 703, Thailand on 570 and Spain on 500. Year to October,83,086 new cars have arrived on our shores.
