Mercedes-Benz will build the first model under its EQ electric vehicle brand by the end of the decade, says parent company Daimler. Reuters reports that the model will be built in Bremen, in northern Germany, and will be based on the SUV coupe-style EQ model shown at the Paris auto show last month. The Bremen plant currently makes 10 different models, including plug-in hybrid variants of Mercedes’ C-Class and the GLC SUV. The marque’s fuel-cell operated GLC will also be built at the factory. Mercedes-Benz, along with Daimler’s Smart brand, aims to launch more than 10 electric cars by 2025.
