Posted on 15 December, 2014

The Jeep Cherokee line-up has been strengthened by the arrival of the new Limited Diesel with its two-litre turbo engine and nine-speed automatic transmission. It completes the model’s line-up, which also offered in Sport guise with its 2.4-litre petrol engine, and the Longitude, Limited and Trailhawk trim with the marques’ 3.2-litre Pentastar V6. Jeep’s two-litre turbo diesel delivers 125kW and 350Nm, and is equipped with stop-start technology. The Limited Diesel also features Active Drive II with a two-speed power transfer unit with torque management and low range unique to the diesel powertrain. Standard safety features include seven airbags, electronic stability control with rollover mitigation and ABS with on and off-road calibration. This vehicle is also the first mid-size SUV to feature rear-axle disconnect resulting in reduced friction and energy loss when 4x4 capability isn’t needed and ensuring improved fuel efficiency. The Cherokee range in New Zealand features five versions, starting with the 2.4-litre Sport with a recommended retail price of $44,990. The Pentastar 3.2-litre V6-powered range starts with the Longitude at $54,990 excluding on-roads. The Cherokee Limited is priced at $66,990.
