Autofile, Oct 21: Special issue – IMVIA gala dinner

Autofile magazine has extended coverage of the Imported Motor Vehicle Industry Association’s silver anniversary celebration on October 17. The latest issue includes an eight-page lift-out on the black-tie function in Auckland. Founding members of the first organisation representing the used imports industry were recognised for their pioneering work, two IMVIA staff members received long-service awards and a supreme award was presented. We bring you news and views from the event – including what David Vinsen, Rod Milner and Maurice Williamson had to say – and some great pictures from the night. Vinsen described the silver anniversary as a significant milestone for any organisation, but particularly for the used imports sector considering the numerous challenges it has overcome. “Many people didn’t even think we should exist, let alone last this long,” he said. “After 25 years, it’s a good time to look back. Since we started as the Licensed Motor Vehicle Dealers Association, we’ve been committed to advocating for the issues of those importing and selling used vehicles.” PLUS: Malcolm Yorston looks back at changes in vehicle technology over the years and the MIA launches its new website. Find out what Gulliver International’s business model is all about. Autofile also lifts the lid on details in the settlement agreement between the Commerce Commission and Broadlands Finance. We gauge industry views on electric vehicles and this issue’s regional report focuses on the Hawke’s Bay. And there’s unrivalled views and analysis on industry statistics.
