The Financial Services Federation wants a new code of practice strictly enforced on loan sharks. The call follows the government publishing a discussion document on what’s likely to be included in the code lenders and car dealers will have to follow – such as fee levels, consumer-related insurance commission and extended warranties. The Ministry of Transport explains to Autofile why amendments have been made to the roll-out of mandatory ESC on imported light vehicles. Two changes have been made to the timetable for used imports, while a request to extend the deadline for new utes and light vans has been denied.
