Fall in dealer numbers

Dealer numbers fell by 93 during the 2018 year, according to figures released by the Motor Vehicle Traders Register (MVTR). 

At the start of 2018 there were 3,513 registered motor-vehicle traders – now the number has fallen to 3,420. 

The 3,420 active dealers recorded at the end of December is also 15 dealers less than November’s 3,435.

The MVTR holds essential information about registered traders and their business. It is operated by Trading Standards, a business unit of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.
