Wacky outside for concept
Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC) offered up its WitStar concept at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. It’s a falcon-wing-doored, range-extended hybrid with a wacky interior. GAC specifies a Chevy Volt-like set-up, with a small gas engine – a one-litre inline four – feeding an electric drive motor via a generator. Peak power for the drive system is reported at about 94.7kW with an electric-only range of 100km or more from its 13kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The wood flooring and reversible seats slightly resemble Mercedes-Benz’s autonomous luxury pod.
