Posted on 30 November, 2015

The 2016 Chevrolet Volt has been named green car of the year by Green Car Journal in the US. It is the second time it has been recognised by the magazine after landing the honour with its first-generation model in 2011. The hybrid petrol-electric vehicle can go 85km on electric power alone, and 676km on petrol and battery power. The Volt went on sale last month in America last month starting at US$50,375, but has been discontinued from Holden New Zealand’s range. The four other finalists were the Audi A3 e-tron, Honda Civic, Hyundai Sonata and Toyota Prius.
