Used imported cars increase

The number of used passenger imports crossing the border last month came in at 12,928. This was the second highest total of the year after 15,858 in May, with October’s total up by 1,725 units compared to the previous month. About 95.5 per cent of the vehicles arrived from Japan, which accounted for 12,322 of the used cars imported here. We imported 233 cars from Australia and 172 from the UK. Year to date, 113,310 used imports have now crossed the border. Meanwhile, when it came to used commercial vehicles imported, there were 772. Imports from Japan made up the majority on 720, followed by Australia on 25 and the UK on 15. So far this year, 5,192 used commercials have been imported into New Zealand.
