Trade Me boosts executive team

Posted on 05 July, 2017

Trade Me has reorganised its management and introduced several new members to its executive team. Trade Me CEO Jon Macdonald said the new structure reflected Trade Me’s strategic priorities, and would help further grow the business. The heads of Trade Me Jobs, Jeremy Wade, and Trade Me Motors, Alan Clark, will join the executive team, which Trade Me said “reflects the continued growth in scale and importance of its classified businesses.” A new chief customer officer role has been created, and will be filled by current chief product officer Trent Mankelow. Trade Me has also established a new chief product and technology officer position (CPTO), which will “bring together the key elements of product development, data and technology platforms.” Current general manager of platform and operations David Wasley will act as CPTO until the company makes a permanent appointment. Wasley will then move on from Trade Me after 10 years of service. Head of commercial Jimmy McGee will also depart the executive team, and finishes in his role this September after 11 years with Trade Me. Macdonald acknowledged the contribution Wasley and McGee made to the company, saying each had played a huge and meaningful part in shaping a New Zealand icon.
