Top 30 vehicles in Japan
A total of 5,562,888 vehicles were sold in Japan during 2014. Of those, 3,290,098 were over 1000cc. Toyota led the Japanese market last year, with the Aqua securing the title for the most popular model on 233,209 units. It was followed by Honda’s Fit on 202,824, the Toyota Prius on 183,614 and the Corolla on 114,331. The Toyota Voxy secured 109,174 units and when combined with its sister vehicles – the Noah and the Esquire – it sold 189,807 units, which would be enough to claim third place if sales were aggregated. Nissan’s Note claimed sixth place on 106,765, followed by Honda’s Vezel on 96,029, while the Toyota Vitz was on 89,496 units pushing it into eight place on the table. The Nissan Serena was next on 76,909, and rounding out the top ten was Toyota’s Noah on 69,605 units. The IMVIA provided this data for Autofile Online.
