Tesla developing platoon trucks

Tesla Inc is currently in the middle of developing a long-haul, electric semi-truck that can move in platoons. According to news website Reuters, Tesla plans to unveil the electric truck in September and the technology will include a driving formation where trucks follow each another closely, connected to a lead vehicle which will all work autonomously and possibly cut out the need for a human driver in the future. Tesla's shares were up almost 70 percent this year, closed down 0.5 percent at $363.53 on Nasdaq, but rose slightly after hours.
